10 Portraits

Framing Internet

I like this because of the triangles and how the sun is shining through.

I like this because I like tunnels and I think the contrast is cool. I also like how there is a person walking through the tunnel instead of that space being empty.

I like this because you can still see the spiral in the column, even though the entire foreground is dark. I like that the background is lighter and that there are repeating shapes in the building.

I like this because I like the different sizes and colors of the bricks and how the people are just silhouettes.

Natural Framing. photo by thrumyeye (Holland)

I like this because of the colors and the bird is adorable. I also like the texture of the rusty railing or fence.

Hands and Feet Internet

I like this because of the different textures in the hand, and the flower being colorful while the rest is black and white.

I like this because it looks like the hands are glowing.

I like this because of the angle its at and it looks like a cartoon.

I like this because of the contrast and the reflection in the puddle. I also like that the feet are on tip-toes and not flat.

I think this is adorable. I love how the dog is positioned between the two people.

Rule of Thirds Internet

I was attracted to this because of the colors and the placement of the house.

I like this because of the colors and because of the sailboat being a silhouette.

This attracted me because the intensity of the eyes.

I like this because of the placement of the fire hydrant. Because of the color, I was also attracted to it.

I like this because the donkey seems curious and because his muzzle is in the foreground.

Critique

I like this picture; I like that the water is sharp and not blurred. I think it still shows the movement of the water because it is splashing over the sides. That's what I like the most about it. I would change the shadows and my positioning.

Conveying a Message

I like this picture because it's really cute and I like how the eyes are only partially open; it makes it seem like the baby was laughing and happy.

I like this picture because it's dark and all the different women have a different look to them. It reminds me of "diva" on our sheet for our assignment.

I like this picture because it shows the grandmother (maybe?) being helpful and caring to the little girl.

I like this because it shows the love between the two people. I also like the expressions, and her hand placement, and how rule of thirds is used.

I like this because of the lighting. I think it has different interpretations, or how people see the picture, to different people.

Motion Blur and Stop Action Critique

I like my motion blur and stop action photos. I like the way that in my stop action that the fountain is so dark and the drops of water splashing up show up clearly against the darkness. I like the way that the motion blur photo blurs the water so much. I would have used a filter for the motion blur photo to get more contrast.

Textbook Photo

I could use this idea for lines or for an unusual angle. This picture appeals to me because of the staircase and how it leads my eyes to the lighting fixture. I've always been really interested in spiral staircases, and this would be a good way to bring that interest into my photography.

Lines Critique

I like both of my lines pictures. However, I like the one with the vertical lines better because of the perspective. The one of the rocks is somewhat boring because of the perspective. I think it follows the rule of thirds for composition.

Depth of Field Critique

I'm pleased with my depth of field pictures. I think the shallow d.o.f. one is more interesting than the other because of the perspective, but I like the composition of the tree photo also.

Internet Lines

1. These are real lines that lead your eye to the background. I was attracted to this picture because of the colors and composition.
2. These are also leading lines that direct your eye on the entire road. This attracted me because the lines were so curvy.
3. This picture has real lines that move your eye from the foreground to the background. I was attracted to the picture because it reminds me of a place I go to in summer and the composition.
4. These are real lines that go in different directions, leading you to different places. The signs in the background could also be implied lines. It attracted me because the contrast of black and white.
5. These are implied lines because the formation of the geese is not an actual line. This photo attracted me because of the colors and composition.

Internet Depth of Field

2.
4.

1. This one was taken with a large aperture and the photographer was probably close to the subject.
2. This was also a large aperture.
3. This was also a large aperture, and photographer may have been close to subject.
4. This was taken with small aperture, and not close to subject.
5. This was a small aperture, and maybe a wide angle lens.
6. This was a small aperture for depth but may have been adjusted for lighting.

Internet Stop Action and Motion Blur

The stop action photos must be fast shutter speeds and the motion blur is the opposite, slow.
